Noel Naval Tata was born in 1957 and is reported as being 67 years old as of 2024. He was raised in Bombay and holds Irish nationality. Noel Tata entered the family’s business network after finishing his education and built a long-term career across Tata Group companies and affiliated entities. Early in his corporate journey he joined Tata International and later rose to prominent leadership roles within the group’s retail and industrial businesses.

In 1999 he became managing director of Trent, the Tata Group’s retail arm that had been established by his mother. Under his stewardship, Trent developed the Westside retail chain; the business expanded from a small portfolio into a national retail brand. During his time leading Trent the company increased in market value, reflecting growth in the group’s retail presence.

Tata held board roles at Titan Industries and Voltas, joining both boards in 2003. He served as managing director of Tata International around 2010–2011 when that overseas arm of the group operated with substantial global scale. In 2017 Noel Tata assumed leadership of Voltas and presided over a period of valuation growth for the company.
