Early life and background

Parag Madhu Sanghvi was born in Mumbai in 1972 and grew up in the same city. He completed a graduation in business management before moving into the film and entertainment business. His hometown and primary base have remained Mumbai throughout his career.

Career

After finishing his studies in business management, Sanghvi began working in business roles and by the 1990s started investing in film production. Over time he expanded his activities to include financing and distribution for Hindi films as well as producing titles under his own banner.

Sanghvi’s producing credits include work on films such as Darna Mana Hai (2003), Ab Tak Chhappan (2004) and its sequel Ab Tak Chhappan 2 (2015), Vaastu Shastra (2004) and Golmaal: Fun Unlimited (2006). He later established production companies including Alumbra Entertainment and Lotus Film Pvt. Ltd. through which he produced films such as Sarkar (2005), The Attacks of 26/11 (2013), Sarkar 3 (2017) and Chef (2017).

Beyond film production, Sanghvi has been involved in hospitality and nightlife projects. In 2016 he launched the Playboy Club franchise in India; the franchise was taken over by a business partner in 2017. He also opened a luxury lounge called B in Mumbai on 26 August 2019.
