Early life and background

Pari Bishnoi was born on 26 February 1996 in Kakra village, Bikaner, Rajasthan. Raised in a family with public-service ties—her father, Maniram Bishnoi, is a lawyer, and her mother, Sushila Bishnoi, serves as an SHO in the Government Railway Police—Pari completed her schooling at St. Mary’s Convent School in Ajmer. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Indraprastha College, University of Delhi, and went on to obtain a master’s degree in Political Science from Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati University in Ajmer.

Career

Pari joined the Indian Administrative Service in the 2020 batch and was allotted the Sikkim cadre. Early in her career she has held assignments including Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Gangtok, Sikkim. In 2022 she served on deputation as an Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Her path to the IAS included persistent preparation for the Civil Services Examination. During college she began studying for the UPSC exams and also cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET), earning a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in political science. After two earlier attempts, she succeeded on her third UPSC attempt in 2019, obtaining an All India rank of 30. She initially aimed for the Indian Police Service (IPS) but ultimately entered the IAS.

In 2023, citing her father’s illness, Pari sought a change of deputation from Sikkim to her home state. The Haryana government issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for her deputation in September 2023.

Pari maintains a relatively low public profile and has said that during her UPSC preparation she kept a disciplined routine and avoided social media. Outside work she enjoys running and cycling. She is also a pet owner and has a dog named Gigi.

Pari comes from a family with local civic involvement: her grandfather, Gopiram Bishnoi, served multiple terms as the sarpanch of Kakra village. She has one younger sister and no brothers. On 22 December 2023 she married Bhavya Bishnoi, a politician who is noted as the youngest member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly.
