Parineeti Chopra was born on 22 October 1988 in Ambala, Haryana, and grew up in a Punjabi Hindu family. She attended the Convent of Jesus and Mary in Ambala and later moved to England to study at Manchester Business School. There she completed a triple honours degree in Business, Finance and Economics and also earned a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Music. During her student years she worked as a catering team leader at Manchester United Football Club on match days.
