Early life and background

Poornima Ravi was born on 5 October 1995 in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. Raised in her hometown, she completed her schooling at Shrishti Matriculation Higher Secondary School and went on to earn an engineering degree from Vellore Institute of Technology. During her college years she was active in dance, training formally and performing with Chargers, a VIT dance club.

Career

After finishing her studies, Poornima entered the Tamil entertainment world through digital content. She launched her YouTube channel Araathi on 2 July 2019 and began producing short comedy sketches and web series that often focused on everyday situations and women’s perspectives. Her work on the channel includes the web series Selfie Kadhal (2020) and Hey Sandakaari (2022).

Poornima’s on-screen work expanded into films and traditional media. She made her feature film debut in Plan Panni Pannanum (2021), appearing in the role of Radha, and later acted in Chota (2022).
