Uppalapati Venkata Suryanarayana Prabhas Raju was born on 23 October 1979 in Madras (now Chennai), Tamil Nadu. He grew up in a family involved with the Telugu film industry; his paternal uncle Uppalapati Krishnam Raju encouraged him toward acting. Prabhas attended DNR School in Bhimavaram and later studied at Sri Chaitanya College in Hyderabad, where he completed an engineering qualification.

Career
Prabhas began his film career with the Telugu movie Eeshwar (2002). He went on to establish himself in Telugu cinema with a series of performances that earned both popular and critical attention. His breakthrough came with the role of Venkat in Varsham (2004), and he received multiple awards over the years including recognitions for performances in Varsham, Darling, Mirchi and the Baahubali films.
