Early life and background

Pradeep Rathod was born on 23 January 1965 in Mumbai. He hails from a Jain family with roots in Sadri town, Pali district, Rajasthan, and grew up connected to the business his father founded. His father, Ghisulal Dhanraj Rathod, established Cello World in Mumbai in 1962. Pradeep joined the company as a young man and over the decades became a central figure in the group’s growth.

Career

Rathod’s career has been closely intertwined with the expansion and diversification of the family business. He holds leadership roles across multiple group companies and is described as chairman and joint managing director of Cello World. His association with Wim Plast Ltd. dates back to 7 October 1988, when he became managing director of the listed entity that manufactures plastic furniture under the Cello brand. He also features on the boards of several other group companies, taking director roles at Sunkist Moulders Private Limited (from 18 April 1990), Cello International Private Limited (from 21 January 1991), Cello Infrastructure (from 2006), and in 2008 he joined as director of Cello Capital and Cello Pens And Stationery.
