Early life and background
Pranay Reddy Vanga was born on 12 January 1979 in Warangal, Telangana. He grew up in Telangana and completed his schooling at institutions in Hyderabad, including Platinum Jubilee High School and Siddhartha Residential Public School. For higher education he pursued engineering, earning a BTech in Mechanical Engineering from Bheemanna Khandre Institute of Technology under Gulbarga University. He furthered his studies in Sweden, obtaining an MS in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Product Development and Business Management from institutions in Dalarna.

Career
Pranay has built a professional life that spans both technology and film production. Early in his IT career he worked in roles focused on ETL (extract, transform, load) processes. In 2005 he was associated with Prolink Services LLC as an ETL developer and later took a position with Kaiser Permanente IT. He joined Cognizant Technology Solutions as a senior associate in 2011 and subsequently worked at Fannie Mae in an ETL developer role.

Pranay is married to Shweta. The couple have two sons: Rishik Nandan Reddy Vanga, born in 2009, and Vibhum Smaran Vanga, born in 2011. His parents are Prabhakar Reddy and Sujatha. He is the younger brother of filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who works as a director, writer, and editor.
