Early life and background

Prasanth Varma was born on 29 May 1989 in Palakollu, Andhra Pradesh. He spent his formative years in the region and later pursued formal education in engineering, earning a BTech in Computer Science Engineering from CVR College of Engineering. He attended Sri Saraswathi Shishu Mandir in Hyderabad during his school years.

From a young age Varma took part in athletics and extracurricular competitions. He competed in events such as javelin throw and badminton, represented at domestic levels in sports, and won trophies in both cricket and badminton. He also trained in karate and holds an orange belt.

Career

Varma began making films early, directing short projects while still in college and later moving into commercial and feature filmmaking. His directorial debut for short films came in 2011 with Deenamma Jeevitham. Over the next years he directed several other short films and music videos, building experience across formats.

He expanded into web and advertising work as well. In 2015 he directed the web series Brian Lara is Not Out!, which was distributed on Yupp TV. He also helmed television promos and commercials for brands and shows, and directed music videos including Love Story, Losing My Mind, Love Thing, Rock On, and Malli Raava.

Varma launched his advertising company Adsville in 2016 and subsequently started other Hyderabad-based entertainment ventures including Flickville, Scriptsville, and PVCU. His entrepreneurial activities accompanied continued creative work in film.
