He has a sister named Kaushikee Singh. Pratham has described interests outside cricket that include travel, listening to music and playing other sports such as tennis, football and volleyball.
Cricket career
A left-handed batter who bowls right-arm offbreak, Pratham made his way into professional domestic cricket with Railways. He debuted in List A cricket during the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 26 February 2017. Later that year, on 9 November 2017, he made his first-class debut for Railways in the Ranji Trophy and produced a notable innings of 73 off 154 balls in that match.
Pratham’s T20 debut for Railways came on 21 February 2019 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He made an immediate impact in the domestic T20 circuit: in the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy he scored 438 runs from 10 innings at a strike rate of 136, finishing as the tournament’s third-highest run-scorer. In the 2021 edition of the same tournament he recorded four consecutive fifties, a run of form that underscored his consistency in the format.
In the 2020–21 Vijay Hazare Trophy Pratham was the leading run-scorer for Railways, amassing 299 runs with a highest score of 127 against Karnataka and finishing the tournament with an average of 74.75. He continued to convert that domestic form into big scores: in February 2024 he struck 169 against Tripura to steer Railways to a record successful run chase in Ranji Trophy history, and in September 2024 he compiled his maiden Duleep Trophy century for India A, an aggressive 189 off 122 balls.
Indian Premier League and franchise cricket
Pratham’s performances in domestic cricket brought IPL interest. He was selected by Gujarat Lions in 2017 but did not play a match for the side. In the 2022 IPL auction Kolkata Knight Riders bought him, assigning him the jersey number 31; he was listed with an IPL salary of Rs. 20 lakh as of 2022. Earlier he had also been associated with Gujarat Lions and later became part of the KKR setup.
Other contributions and pursuits
Pratham has invested in coaching and development at the grassroots level, running three cricket academies. He has said that his first academy began as a personal project at a local school in Delhi to give himself and nearby children access to practice facilities. His pathway has included setbacks and near departures from the sport—during the COVID-19 pandemic he considered stepping away after clearing the GMAT and nearly enrolling in an MBA course in the UK before his father encouraged him to continue playing.

Pratham’s physical presence is listed at approximately 5 feet 11 inches (180 cm), with black hair and black eyes. He bats left-handed and bowls right-arm offbreak.
