That same year she was ranked among the top juniors in India and within the world U16 category. In August 2018 she secured the Woman Grandmaster title during the Riga Technical University Open and was recognized as the best female player at the Sunway Sitges International Chess Festival that year.
Vaishali continued to build her résumé in international team and individual competitions. She was part of the Indian squad that won a gold medal in an Online Olympiad team event in 2020, marking a first for India in that format. In 2021 she obtained the International Master title. The following year she earned a second Grandmaster norm at the 8th Fischer Memorial by scoring 7.0/9, and she also took part in the FIDE Women’s Speed Chess Championship, where she recorded a notable win over Women’s World Blitz Champion Bibisara Assaubayeva in round 16. In August 2022 she was a member of the Indian women’s team that won the country’s first-ever Olympiad medal in the women’s section, taking bronze at the event held in India.
