Radhika Khanna was born on 23 March 1974 in Amritsar, Punjab. Raised in a family that included her younger brother Vikas Khanna, she pursued her interest in fashion from an early age. She moved to New York to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where she completed a bachelor’s degree in fashion while supporting herself through part-time work in Manhattan restaurants.

Career

After finishing her formal education, Radhika gained experience in the fashion industry through an internship with Donna Karan. She went on to launch her own label, Estilo Inc., in 2005. Through that work she designed apparel for projects that included the American reality television series Kitchen Nightmares.

Alongside designing, Khanna built a public profile around wellness and yoga. Diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus and later affected by atypical hemolytic-uremic syndrome and kidney problems, she adopted a disciplined yoga practice and wrote about its benefits.
