Rajvir Jawanda was born on 20 June 1990 in the village of Pona near Jagraon in Ludhiana district, Punjab, India. He grew up in a family with ties to the Punjab Police; his father is Karam Singh Jawanda and his mother is Paramjeet Kaur. He completed his schooling at Sanmati Vimal Jain School in Jagraon and went on to DAV College, Jagraon, where he finished postgraduate studies. During his student years he studied music under Guru Lalli Khan and developed skills on folk instruments such as the tumbi, winning several college-level prizes for his performances.

Career
Jawanda began his public career as a singer and model. After initially preparing for a policing career — he cleared the police examination and completed a year of police training — he chose to leave that path and concentrate on music. His recorded debut came in 2016 with the album Shaandaar; that same year he released the single Kali Jawande Di and gained wider recognition with the song Muqabla.

Over the following years he released a number of Punjabi tracks that blended contemporary and folk elements. His catalogue includes songs such as Patiala Shahi Pagg, Kesri Jhande, Shokeen, Landlord and Surname. In 2017 he released Kangani, a song that quickly attracted millions of views. Despite continuous medical care, his neurological state remained unstable and he developed multiple organ failure. Fortis Hospital declared his death on 8 October 2025 at 10:55 AM. He was 35 years old at the time of his passing.
