Early life and backgroundAbdur Razzak Khan, known professionally as Razak Khan, was born on 28 March 1951 in the Byculla–Madanpura area of Mumbai. He attended Anjuman Islam Urdu School near CST in Mumbai and grew up in the city he would later represent on screen. Khan had brown eyes and brown hair and stood about 175 cm (5'9") tall.
Career
Khan began his onscreen career on television before moving into films. His earliest noted TV work includes the role of Ulhas Bhai in Naya Nukkad, which aired on DD National in 1986. He made his film debut in 1993 with Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, appearing as the character Keshav.
Over the following years Khan became a familiar face in Hindi cinema, often cast in comic or character parts. He played memorable supporting roles such as Nadi Dinna Changezi in Ishq (1997), Manikchand in Baadshah (1999), Ninja Chacha in Hello Brother (1999), and Fainku in Haseena Maan Jaayegi (1999). On television he appeared in series including Filmi Chakkar (1997) as Pappu Kang, Chamatkar (1998) as Makodi Pahalwan, and later made appearances on contemporary variety comedy programs, including Comedy Nights with Kapil in 2014.
Khan also had a background in theatre. He performed in stage plays in India and abroad and ran acting workshops with various theatre groups, bringing his stage experience to his screen work.

Death and legacy
On 1 June 2016 Razak Khan suffered a cardiac arrest at Sheesha Restaurant in Mumbai. He was taken to Holy Family Hospital in Bandra and was declared dead there the same day at age 65. He was buried at Nariyalwadi Cemetery in Byculla, Mumbai. His funeral was attended by peers from the film community, and filmmakers and actors publicly expressed their sorrow at his passing. Khan is remembered for a long run of character roles across film, television and theatre and for his work conducting acting workshops.
