Early life and background

Rex Rajkumar Singh was born on 30 August 2000 in Imphal, Manipur, India. He grew up in Imphal and experienced financial challenges during his childhood; his father worked as a truck driver. Rex attended school through the secondary level but had not completed higher education as of the time covered in the available information.

As a child he was exposed to multiple activities: he trained briefly in taekwondo and spent much of his free time watching cricket matches at a nearby ground. His early cricket was informal, played with a tennis ball, and he first encountered the leather ball around the Under-14 level in 2014–15.

Career

Rex Singh is a cricketer who represents Manipur in domestic competitions. He bats left-handed and bowls left-arm medium-fast. His coach or mentor is listed as Pheiroizan Roindro. Rex first made a mark in youth cricket with a five-wicket haul in his debut for Bihar Under-16, and he progressed through the junior ranks and affiliate-level tournaments.

He made his first-class debut for Manipur on 1 November 2018 in a match against Sikkim at Kolkata. Within a short time at the senior level he produced a standout performance: on 11 December 2018, playing in the Cooch Behar Trophy, he took ten wickets in a single innings against Arunachal Pradesh. That feat brought attention to him as a bowler capable of producing match-turning spells.

Public profile

Rex has expressed strong ambitions about his cricketing future. In interviews he has described the challenges his family faced supporting his career and framed opportunities to play at higher levels as the main motivator, rather than financial reward. He has said he wants to become well known and to play for India.

Among players he admires are James Anderson and Wasim Akram. As of the available information he was unmarried and had two siblings. His listed physical details include a height of approximately 167 cm (1.67 m or 5'6"), dark brown eyes and medium golden brown hair.

Latest updates

By late 2018 Rex had transitioned from youth and affiliate cricket into first-class competition for Manipur and had already recorded the exceptional ten-wicket innings in the Cooch Behar Trophy. His immediate goals included continuing to play at higher levels and completing his education at some point in the future.

Overall, Rex Singh's profile is that of a young pace bowler from Manipur who rose quickly through local and junior ranks, made his first-class debut in 2018, and achieved a rare ten-wicket innings performance early in his senior career.
