Early life and background

Ridhi Dogra was born on 22 September 1984 in New Delhi. She grew up in the city and attended Apeejay School in Sheikh Sarai before going on to Kamala Nehru College in Delhi, where she completed a degree in psychology. Her father is Ashok Dogra and her mother is Renu Dogra. She has a brother, Akshay Dogra, who is also an actor.

Career

Ridhi began her career in television and made her debut in the series Jhoome Jiiya Re in 2007. Over the next decade she became a familiar face on Indian TV, appearing in shows such as Hindi Hai Hum (2009), Maat Pitaah Ke Charnon Mein Swarg (2010), Laagi Tujhse Lagan (2010) and Savitri (2013). She gained particular recognition for playing the lead role of Priya in Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak? in 2010.

Her television work also includes Woh Apna Sa (2017), a project she later left reportedly because she did not want to portray an aged character. In addition to serials, Ridhi took part in reality television: she and then-husband Raqesh Vashisth were contestants on Nach Baliye 6 in 2013, and she appeared on Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi (season 6) in 2015.

In the late 2010s and early 2020s she broadened her screen presence beyond traditional television. She appeared in the web series Asur: Welcome to Your Dark Side (2020). More recently, she took on a film role in the 2023 action thriller Jawan, portraying Kaveri, a 57-year-old mother in a cast that included Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara.
