Early life and background

Rohan Pillai was born on 13 December 1994 in Pune, India. He grew up in a family that includes his father, Satish Pillai, a former Air Force officer, and his mother, Rupa Pillai. Rohan completed a Bachelor of Commerce at St. Joseph's Degree & PG College in Hyderabad before pursuing further studies in communications and public relations.

Career

Rohan's early professional experience began in talent acquisition with The D. E. Shaw Group in Hyderabad in 2015. He moved into marketing roles the following year, joining Fluidonomics as a marketing executive in January 2016.

He first appeared on national television as a contestant on MTV Roadies X4 (2016). Although he was selected for Neha Dhupia's team, he was eliminated in the show's first voting round. Later that year he took part in the reality series Chase The Monsoon (season 4), which he went on to win alongside co-contestant Hifsa Sharma.

After his stint on television, Rohan worked as a content marketer at Oxalis Adventure Tours in Vietnam beginning in November 2018 and remained there until January 2020. From October 2020 to March 2021 he freelanced for No Society Cafe & Homestay in Jibhi. He also served as branding and strategy lead at Takila Design in Delhi.

Rohan left his job in July 2022 and relocated to Canada to pursue postgraduate studies. He completed a master's in public relations, advertising, and applied communication at Conestoga College, Kitchener, Ontario, in 2023. In January 2023 he joined CW Immigration as marketing team lead.
