Rohit Chetry was born on 23 December 2000 in Lekhapani, Assam. Raised in the same town, he completed his school education at Tipong High School in Tipang Pani Natun Gaon. He is the son of Shankar and Radhika Chetry and has three sisters: Kabita Suraj Chetry, Sumitra Chetry and Aayushi. He holds Indian nationality and his zodiac sign is Capricorn.

Career

Chetry began appearing on screen with a credited role in the 2019 web series City of Dreams, where he played a drug delivery boy. Since then he has taken on a variety of on-screen and behind-the-camera roles. On television he appeared as Brien in the DD National historical series Swaraj: Bharat Ke Swatantrata Sangram Ki Samagra Gatha in 2022. In December 2023 he had a role as a student in the film The Archies.

Alongside acting, Chetry writes and directs. He has written more than seven short films and two feature films, and has directed over four short films. In 2023 he directed the short films Lone Life and Infinity: Into the Dimensions. He also runs a production company called Analogous Films Production House.

Chetry co-founded Rock Box Casting, where he works as a casting manager for advertisements, television shows and web series. Earlier in his career he worked outside the film industry as a digital marketing specialist at Golden Nuts in Ahmedabad from January 2019 to August 2021.
