Rohit Sahni was born on 25 May and raised in Hyderabad, Telangana. He completed his schooling at St. Anthony's High School and attended Little Flower Junior College for intermediate studies before graduating from Aurora Degree College in Hyderabad. He speaks Telugu, English and Punjabi and lists cycling and travelling among his hobbies. Rohit follows a non-vegetarian diet and enjoys steamed vegetables and chicken fry. He is a fitness enthusiast who practices yoga regularly.

Rohit has built a multi-faceted career as an actor, entrepreneur and content creator. His earliest television work includes a role on the long-running Telugu serial Abhishekam, which premiered in 2008 and ran for almost 14 years. He made his Telugu film debut in 2015 with Chiru Godavalu and has appeared in a number of TV serials over the years.

On television Rohit has played characters in shows such as Bharyamanion, Kalusukovalani (as Sandeep), Neeli Kaluvalu (as Amshu), Amrutha Varshini (as Abhiram) and Abhilasha (as Raghuram), the latter helping raise his profile in Telugu serial drama. Away from performing, Rohit is an entrepreneur and owner of Sahni Studio, an international wedding photography and filmmaking studio based in Hyderabad. In 2017 he appeared in a commercial for Pari Gold Flavored Sounf.
