Rohit Shekhar Singh Tiwari was born in Delhi in 1979 and raised in the city that remained his lifelong home. His mother, Ujjwala Tiwari (also referenced as Ujjwala Sharma), and a long-time family nanny played central roles during his childhood. Rohit received formal training in Indian classical music at Gandharva Mahavidyalaya in New Delhi and maintained a strong interest in singing throughout his life.
