Rozina was born Renu on April 12, 1955, in Rajbari in the Faridpur District of what was then East Pakistan. Raised in Faridpur, she developed an early interest in performance and appeared in stage plays before moving into film. Career

Rozina began her performing career on the stage. Her first recorded theatre role was in the play Shaistaganj. By the early 1990s Rozina was among the highest-paid actresses in the industry and earned the public sobriquet "Dream Girl" of Bangladeshi film. After a period of intense activity she stepped back from the screen around 1993. She returned to film in 2005 with Rakkhushi, which is noted as her last feature film appearance before she shifted focus to other creative endeavors.

Beyond acting Rozina has directed for television and stage. She produced two television dramas adapted from the novels of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, Mejdidi and Borodidi, and she played the lead in Mejdidi. She also directed Badnaam, a play based on a story by Rabindranath Tagore, and a television serial inspired by the life of poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
