Rubal Dhankar Biography
Rubal Dhankar is an Indian police head constable, fitness trainer and content creator who gained public attention after participating in Roadies X4 in 2016
Early life and backgroundRubal Dhankar was born on 6 August 1988 in Narela, Delhi, and grew up with strong ties to Faizpur Ninana village in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. His father, Kanwarpal Dhankar, was a bodybuilder and served in the Delhi Police, and his mother is Munesh Dhankar. Rubal attended Govt Boys Senior Secondary School No. 2 in Narela and later studied at Delhi University, earning a B.Com degree.
From an early age he was encouraged to pursue sports and physical training by his father, a motivation that shaped his later choices in bodybuilding and police service. He follows Hinduism, belongs to the Jaat community, and is non-vegetarian.
Career
Rubal joined the Delhi Police in 2010 and rose to the rank of head constable. His background in bodybuilding and fitness continued alongside his policing career. In 2016 he auditioned for and was selected to participate in Roadies X4, a national television competition; his appearance on the show brought him wider public recognition. He reached the advanced stages of the competition but was eliminated in the semi-finals.
Following Roadies, Rubal expanded his presence online. He launched a YouTube channel under his own name focused on fitness and bodybuilding information, which drew a large audience. He also created two additional channels: Rowdy Dhankar for comedy and social content, and Rowdy Vlogs for vlogging. The channels gave him a platform to share workout routines, training philosophy and aspects of his life balancing police work with fitness.
Personal resilience and public story
Rubal’s path included significant setbacks that he has spoken about publicly. In 2009, shortly before his first attempt at the Delhi Police physical test, he underwent oral surgery that resulted in complications and a temporary setback to his physical abilities. Despite nerve damage and a difficult recovery period, he continued training and successfully passed the police physical test the following year. He has recounted how persistence and gradual rehabilitation helped him recover physically and mentally.
His Roadies eviction had a strong emotional impact and led to a period of depression, but he returned to duty with the Delhi Police and continued building his online fitness presence. Viewers and followers often sought advice about how he maintained a muscular physique while serving as a police constable, which motivated his expansion into digital content.
Public profile
Rubal is noted for his imposing physical measurements, with a reported height of 185 cm (6'1") and a weight around 95 kg (209 lbs). He has said his biceps measure approximately 19.5 inches. He is known to drive a Kia Seltos and to ride a Royal Enfield motorbike. In interviews and social posts he has named Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan among his favourite actors, and cited films such as Roti Kapda Aur Makaan and Veer-Zaara.
Personal life
Rubal is married to Deepa Dhankar; the couple has two children, a son named Aahnik Dhankar and a daughter whose name has not been publicly specified in the available information. His father, Kanwarpal, served as an Assistant Sub-Inspector in the Delhi Police, and he has a brother, Vivek Dhankar, who works with the Delhi government. Rubal has described family considerations as influential in his decision to marry.
