Rubika Liyaquat was born on 18 April 1983 in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Raised in her hometown, she completed her schooling at St. Gregorios Senior Secondary School in Udaipur before moving to Mumbai for higher studies. She earned a Bachelor of Mass Media degree with a focus on journalism from the University of Mumbai.

Career

Liyaquat began gaining on-camera experience while still a student. In 2003 she worked briefly as an anchor with Channel 24 during her time at university. After finishing her degree in 2005, she entered the television news industry in earnest.

Her early professional roles included a stint with Live India beginning in June 2007, where she remained until September 2008. She then joined News 24 as an anchor and senior correspondent. Subsequent work brought her to Zee News, where she reported and anchored before making a move in 2018.

In August 2018 Rubika left Zee News to join ABP News. At ABP she became the host of the primetime program Master Stroke. During her tenure at ABP, she secured a high-profile interview in April 2019 with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a notable assignment in her broadcast career.

After five years with ABP, Liyaquat reportedly resigned in June 2023 and moved to Bharat24, joining the channel as vice-president.
