Early life and backgroundRukhsar Rehman was born on 29 October 1975 in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh. She grew up in Rampur, attended a private school there and later completed a bachelor’s degree. Raised in a family where her father served as an IAS officer, she spent her formative years in Uttar Pradesh and identifies as Indian by nationality. Her religion is Islam and her zodiac sign is Scorpio.
Career
Rukhsar made her screen debut as a teenager in 1992, appearing in the film Yaad Rakhegi Duniya. She also featured that year opposite an established star in Inteha Pyar Ki, though family concerns led her to step away from acting for a period and complete her education. During that break she ran a garment-design business in Lucknow.
She returned to the film industry in 2005 with Ram Gopal Varma’s crime drama D, playing the role of Bhakti Bhatnagar. The same year brought an appearance in Sarkar, offering her the chance to work alongside one of her favourite actors. From that point she steadily built a body of supporting work across cinema and television, with credits in films such as God Tussi Great Ho, The Stoneman Murders, Knock Out, Allah Ke Banday, Shaitan, Bheja Fry 2, PK, Uri: The Surgical Strike and 83.
