Early life and background

Saarrh Kkashyap was born Saar Kashyap on 4 December 1999 in Guwahati, Assam. Raised in a family with artistic roots, his mother Sanghamitra Sangy is a singer and his step-father Michael Anand Nathaniel is a musician. His maternal grandparents were involved in writing and the freedom movement; his maternal grandfather Loknath Bharali was honoured with a national award. Saarrh completed his schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapara, Guwahati and later earned a B. Tech in Computer Science from SRM University.

He stands about 185 cm (6'1") tall and, according to available information, has black hair and black eyes. He has described travelling as a hobby and cites fitness trainer Jeff Cavaliere (AthleanX) as a fitness role model.

Career

Saarrh began his screen career with a role in the multilingual film Ship of Theseus (2012). After that debut he worked in both films and television, taking parts that ranged from supporting film roles to mythological and contemporary TV characters. He appeared in the film Saat Kadam (2016) as a news anchor, and in 2018 had a notable part as Wardhan in the Bollywood film Padmaavat, which is cited as a breakthrough for him.

On television, Saarrh has credits that include a 2014 role as Ankit in the Life OK series Laut Aao Trisha, and a portrayal of Lord Shiva in the SAB TV sitcom Badi Dooooor Se Aaye Hain (2016). He has taken on mythological roles such as Mahabali Mukhasur in Shaktipeeth Ke Bhairav (2018) and has appeared in shows including Naagarjuna – Ek Yoddha (2016), Baal Krishna (2017), Laal Ishq (2018), Lal Rekha (2020) and Tejpur General Store (2021). Saarrh has worked on digital projects as well, playing a sniper in the 2017 web series Hadh, released on the VB On The Web Studios YouTube channel.
