Early life and background

Sagar Parekh was born on 1 November 1997 in Patna, Bihar. Raised in his hometown, he attended Litera Valley School in Patna. As a young man he at one point considered a career as a chartered accountant, but he shifted toward performing when his mother encouraged him to audition for television work.

Parekh is approximately 1.78 m (5’10”) tall and his listed weight is about 70 kg (154 lbs). Reported body measurements include a 40-inch chest, 34-inch waist and 12-inch biceps. Career

Sagar Parekh made his first television appearance in 2016 with an episodic role on the crime thriller series Gumraah – End of Innocence. After that debut he appeared in two episodes of the Zing channel’s series Aye Zindagi and featured in an episode of the thriller series Fear Files. Over the following years he worked across a number of Indian television productions, including Internet Wala Love (2018–2019), Babbar Ka Tabbar (2018), Rajaa Betaa (2019) and Balika Vadhu 2 (2021).

In July 2022 Parekh stepped into the role of Samar Shah on the popular serial Anupama, replacing the previous actor for that character. The part brought him wider recognition on Indian television. His character’s story concluded in December 2023 when the role was written out and the character died, at which point Parekh exited the series. He has said that he did not know in advance he would be joining Anupama as a replacement and that the uncertainty about acceptance made him initially insecure about taking the part.

In addition to serial work, Parekh has appeared in advertisements for brands including Reliance, Maruti Suzuki and Jio. In December 2023 he announced via his Instagram account that he would appear on the 11th season of the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
