Samaira Sandhu was born in Chandigarh into a Punjabi Jatt Sikh family with roots in Ferozepur, Punjab. She completed her formal education in Chandigarh and holds a Bachelor of Technology followed by an MBA in Human Resources. From childhood she was active in performing arts: learning classical dance, participating in theatre and winning a state-level theatre trophy.
