Early life and background

Sambhavna Seth was born on 12 December 1980 in Delhi, India. Raised in a Punjabi family, she completed her graduation at Maitreyi College in New Delhi. As a child she was active in school sports, and while her mother wanted her to learn the family beauty-parlour trade, Sambhavna pursued performing arts with support from her father.

Career

Sambhavna began her career in the entertainment industry after finishing college, initially working as a model. Her first credited film role came in the Hindi feature Paagalpan (2001). Early in the 2000s she appeared in music videos and began taking dance assignments in item songs for both Hindi and Bhojpuri films. Over the years she has been featured in more than 200 item songs and has appeared in small character roles in Hindi films such as Kids No 1 (2004) and 36 China Town (2006).

Reality television brought wider attention. In 2008 she won the dance reality series Dancing Queen along with her partner Shamaayal. That same year she participated in the reality show Bigg Boss on Colors, which proved to be a high-profile chapter in her public life. She has since taken part in several other reality programmes, including Raaz: Pichhle Janam Ka (2009), Dil Jeetegi Desi Girl (2010), Khatron Ke Khiladi 4 (2011), and Welcome – Baazi Mehmaan Nawazi Ki (2013). In 2010 she served as a judge and mentor on the Bhojpuri dance show Dance Sangram, a project during which she met her future husband, Avinash Dwivedi.

Beyond television and film item numbers, Sambhavna has worked on stage extensively, performing live at national and international events. She has also appeared as a judge on seasons of the Bhojpuri reality show BIG Memsaab.

Digital work and production

In 2014 Sambhavna launched her YouTube channel, Sambhavna Seth Entertainment, where she posts daily vlogs. The channel grew to a substantial audience and her vlogs were later featured on a television channel. In 2019 she acted in the Bhojpuri web series Hero Varrdiwala for Alt Balaji. On 8 February 2021 she and her husband incorporated Sambhavi Entertainment Private Limited, a film production company. The couple have also appeared together in Hindi music videos released between 2021 and 2022.

Sambhavna's work in Bhojpuri cinema has been recognised with awards, including an award for outstanding contribution to the film industry from the Bihar Foundation, Mumbai Chapter, and a Best Dancing Super Star award at the Bhojpuri Cine Award in 2018.

Her father passed away in May 2021 after complications related to COVID-19; her mother died in February 2024 following a prolonged illness. Sambhavna has two brothers.
