Early life and background

Samyuktha Menon was born on 11 September 1995 in Palakkad, Kerala. Raised primarily by her mother after her parents separated, she attended Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Palakkad and later completed a BA in Economics through Indira Gandhi National Open University. From a young age she was interested in entrepreneurship, and while still in school she began receiving modelling assignments.

Career

Menon made her feature-film debut in Malayalam with the 2016 movie Popcorn, in which she played the role of Anjana. After establishing herself in Malayalam cinema she expanded to other South Indian film industries. Her Tamil debut came with Kalari (2018) as Thenmozhi. She entered Telugu cinema with a role in Bheemla Nayak (2022) as Kamali and appeared in Kannada with Gaalipata 2 (2022) as Anupama.

Across the years she has been part of a series of Malayalam films including Theevandi (2018), Oru Yamandan Premakadha (2019), Aanum Pennum (2021), Kaduva (2022) and Boomerang (2023). Her performances have also been seen in Tamil titles such as July Kaatril (2019), Erida (2021) and Vaathi (2023), and in Telugu films including Bimbisara (2022), Sir (2022) and Virupaksha (2023). In the multi-lingual film Sir (2023) she portrayed the character Meenakshi.

Recognition

Menon has received industry recognition for her work. She won Best Actor (Female) at the Movie Street Film Awards in 2019 for the Malayalam film Lilli. In 2021 she received the Kerala Film Critics Award in the Best Actress category for her role in Aanum Pennum.
