Sana Abdul Ahad Saeed was born on 22 September 1988 in Leeds, England. She was raised in a family that later settled in Mumbai and is identified with Indian nationality. Her father, Abdul Ahad Saeed, is a poet. Sana has two sisters, Sadia Saeed and Nyela Saeed Kapadia.

Education has been part of her life alongside performing. She completed a Bachelor of Commerce at H. R. College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai and undertook diploma work in marketing and advertising at the same institution. Sana also pursued a course in acting and filmmaking at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles.
