Early life and background
Sandeep Mohan was born on 1 January 1973 in New Delhi, India. He grew up in Delhi and completed his schooling at Delhi Public School, R. K. Puram. After finishing school he pursued a diploma in acting at the Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts in New Delhi. His family has ancestral roots in Deoghar, Jharkhand.

Career
Mohan moved to Mumbai after his acting training to pursue opportunities in film and television. His first film appearance was in Love (1991), which featured Salman Khan. He gained wide recognition when he was cast as Arjun in Ramanand Sagar’s mythological television series Shri Krishna (1993–1996). The show was a major success and brought him critical attention for his portrayal.

Following Shri Krishna, Mohan worked with several prominent television makers, including B. R. Chopra, Dheeraj Kumar, Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, and Ekta Kapoor. He continued to appear in mythological and historical projects: he portrayed Lord Ram in Dheeraj Kumar’s Om Namah Shivay (1997) and later played Guru Vashishth in the Star Plus series Siya Ke Ram (2015).

In film, Mohan appeared as Guru Ram Purohit in Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj (2020). The same year he took a titular role in the Hindi film Amar Kahani Ravidas Ji Ki (2020).
