Early life and background

Sangeetha Sringeri was born on 13 May 1996 in Sringeri, Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka. Raised in her hometown, she attended Kendriya Vidyalaya in Chikkamagaluru and later studied at MES College in the same city. While at school she was an NCC cadet and also competed in state-level sports, earning a gold medal in a Kho Kho event in 2012.

She trained in the classical dance form Bharatanatyam, a discipline that has accompanied her performing work. From an early age she took an interest in modelling and fitness; she is known to follow a strict workout routine and has described herself as a fitness enthusiast.

Career

Sangeetha began working as a model while in college. She walked fashion ramps, entered beauty contests and was a top-10 finalist in the 2014 Femina Miss India pageant. The following year she participated in the Palaash National Beauty Pageant, and in 2016 she competed at the World Supermodel Pageant where she won the Miss Congeniality title and placed first runner-up in the teen category.

Her on-screen career started in television. In 2016 she made her television debut in the Kannada series Hara Hara Mahadeva on Star Suvarna, playing the role of Sati. She expanded into Telugu television in 2017 with the series Thene Manasaulu, in which she portrayed the character Manasa. That same year she took part in the reality show Super Jodi Season 2 and appeared in the short film Karma.

Sangeetha transitioned to film with her Kannada debut in A+ (2018), credited as Yashaswini. She went on to appear in Salagara Sahakara Sangha (2019) and acted in the Hindi short film 1saw2 in 2019. In 2022 she featured in several Kannada projects: she played Lekhana in Pampa Panchalli Parashivamurthy, portrayed Devika in 777 Charlie—earning positive notice for that performance—and appeared as Anu in Lucky Man alongside Darling Krishna. For her work in 2022 she received Best Actress recognition at the Santosham South Indian Film Awards for 777 Charlie and Lucky Man.

In 2023 Sangeetha made a cameo dancer appearance as Sharmila in Shivaji Surathkal 2: The Mysterious Case of Maayavi. She also joined the cast of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 10, appearing on the Colors Kannada reality series during that year.
