In Pune he completed a Bachelor of Arts at Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce and earned a diploma in Electronics Engineering and Communication from the Indian Institute for Aeronautical Engineering & Information Technology (IIAEIT).

As a youth he was active in team sports such as kabaddi, volleyball and football. That athletic foundation, combined with his growing interest in fitness after relocating to Pune, set the stage for a professional focus on bodybuilding.

Career

Chougule developed his competitive career in bodybuilding under formal coaching beginning in 2006. Early success at a Pune event that year brought him wider attention and he went on to become one of India’s most decorated bodybuilders. Over the course of his career he has collected numerous state, national and international medals. Highlights include multiple Mr. Maharashtra titles, several Mr. India crowns across different years and weight categories, and international honours such as Mr. Universe (85 kg) and Mr. World (85 kg) victories. He maintains a meat-inclusive diet tailored to training needs and is known among peers for prioritizing resistance training over cardio.

On the personal front Sangram met Snehal while studying in Pune; she is a fashion designer and entrepreneur. The couple married on 11 July 2007 and have two children, a son and a daughter.
