Sanjana Ganesan was born on 6 May 1991 in Pune, Maharashtra. Raised in Pune, she attended The Bishop's School before earning a B.Tech from the Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune, where she graduated in 2012 as a gold medalist. Her background includes interests in reading, dancing and adventure sports.

Career

After completing her engineering degree, Sanjana spent a short period working as a software engineer in an IT and digital marketing firm, CDK Global, from 2013 to 2014. Around the same time she began pursuing modeling and pageant work: she was a finalist in Femina Style Diva 2012 and in Femina Miss India Pune 2013, and she won Femina Officially Gorgeous in 2013.

Television brought wider recognition. Sanjana appeared on MTV Splitsvilla Season 7 in 2014, a reality show that marked an early on-screen presence. Later that year she joined Star Sports as a presenter, a role she has described as an unexpected opportunity.
