Early life and background

Sanket Bhosale was born on 9 May 1988 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Raised in a family with a medical background, he completed his schooling at Guru Nanak English High School and Junior College of Commerce in Mumbai. Following his early interest in performance and mimicry, he pursued medical studies and earned an MBBS with a specialization in dermatology. He is also noted as a practising obesity physician.

From childhood Sanket enjoyed acting and imitating people around him, a habit that followed him into his college years when he began to perform impressions of Bollywood personalities. After finishing his medical studies he enrolled at Actor Prepares, Anupam Kher’s acting institute, to develop his craft further.

Career

Sanket’s television debut came in 2012 when he appeared on the stand-up comedy show Laugh India Laugh, where he was among the top ten finalists. He moved into radio in 2013 with work at 92.7 BIG FM and subsequently featured across several television comedy and entertainment projects.

Across the 2010s and into the next decade he appeared in shows such as Gangs of Haseepur (2014), Comedy Ka Rocket (2015), Super Night with Tubelight (2017), The Drama Company (2017), and Gangs of Filmistaan (2020). He has also taken part in celebrity chat and variety formats, including a Sanjay Dutt–style celebrity interview segment titled Baba Ki Chowki in 2016 and an appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show.

Mimicry and notable work

Bhosale is best known for his impersonations of Sanjay Dutt, a skill that brought him recognition and defined much of his public persona. He has imitated a range of other entertainers as well, including Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Kailash Kher, and Farhan Akhtar. His knowledge of Dutt’s persona led him to train Ranbir Kapoor for the actor’s portrayal of Sanjay Dutt in the biopic Sanju (2018).

Sanket creates short-form comic sketches and often writes his own material, citing audience response as a primary motivator for fresh ideas. He maintains a presence on YouTube with a channel under his name that has attracted a substantial subscriber base since its creation in February 2009.

Public profile

Sanket lives and works from Mumbai. He maintains a disciplined fitness routine and is particular about his health and physical conditioning. His personal tastes include a liking for pizza, admiration for actors such as Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan, and enjoyment of various films, television series and musicians. He has spoken publicly about the emotional impact of meeting his idol Sanjay Dutt.

Personal life
