Saranya Sasi was born on 15 March 1986 in Kannur, Kerala. She attended Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Kerala and later studied at the University of Calicut. Raised in Kannur, she was known to be spiritual and frequently visited temples.

Saranya pursued a career in acting, working primarily in Malayalam films and television serials. Her screen debut came in 2006 with the Malayalam film Chacko Randaaman, and the same year she appeared on television in the Doordarshan serial Sooryodayam.
