Sargam Koushal was born on 17 September 1990 in Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir. She grew up in Jammu and completed her schooling at Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School. She went on to study at the University of Jammu and holds a postgraduate degree in English Literature.

Koushal began her professional life as a teacher and has worked at KC International School. After marriage she discovered a strong interest in pageantry and transitioned into modeling and competitive beauty contests. Her efforts culminated in a breakthrough year in 2022.
