Early life and background

MD Sariful Islam Razz was born on 18 November 1991 in Kasba, Brahmanbaria, Bangladesh, and spent part of his upbringing in Sylhet. After completing his school education at The Aided High School in Sylhet, he planned to move abroad and relocated to Dhaka in 2008 to prepare for the IELTS exam. Financial difficulties during his first year in Dhaka prompted a temporary move to Narayanganj to live with an uncle, but he returned to the capital and chose to continue his higher studies. Razz attended Madan Mohan College in Sylhet and later Eastern University in Dhaka, graduating with a BBA (Hons.).

Career

Razz began working in small fashion jobs in 2009, initially earning very little. He started his modelling career in 2010 and gained wider recognition in 2012 after appearing on a high-profile Eid billboard for the fashion company Pride Limited. Over the following years he modelled for several brands and fashion houses, including Code, Grameen Uniqlo, Texsmart, Zurheim and Trendz, and appeared on magazine covers such as Ice Today.

He made his film acting debut in 2016 with Ice Cream, in which he played the character Nadim. Subsequent screen work included the role of Sohel in No Dorai (2019). Razz expanded into digital projects as well: in 2020 he appeared as Samir in the short web film Mainkar Chipay on ZEE5 and played Murad in the web series Infinity, which premiered on Binge. In 2021 he featured as Abir Chowdhury in the web film Networker Baire, released on the Bangladeshi OTT platform Chorki, and his portrayal of SI Rahat in the web series Bilaap received notable audience appreciation.

The year 2022 saw four feature films featuring Razz released: Poran, Gunin, Hawa and Damal. Alongside films and streaming work, he has appeared in television commercials, including an advertisement for Ispahani Mirzapur Tea.

Public profile

Physically, Razz is listed at approximately 1.80 m (5'11") tall, with a reported weight of about 65 kg. His stated body measurements include a 40-inch chest, 34-inch waist and 16-inch biceps. He has black eyes and black hair.

Personal life

Razz married fellow actor Pori Moni on 17 October 2021. The marriage produced one son, Shaheem Muhammad Rajya, born on 10 August 2022. Public reports indicate the couple later separated; Pori Moni announced a separation on social media at the end of December 2022 and in June 2023 publicly requested a divorce. Those developments were linked in media reports to private videos that were posted from Razz’s Facebook account and subsequently removed; Razz has stated that his account was hacked and denied responsibility for the leak.

Latest updates

Razz’s profile continued to be shaped by both his screen work and widely reported developments in his personal life. His acting credits by 2022 include film, web film and web series roles that helped raise his visibility within the Bangladeshi entertainment industry. Reports from 2023 noted public controversy surrounding the leak of private videos and the resulting marital breakdown announced by his then-wife.
