Kaushik’s screen career began with a small acting role in the 1981 film Chakra, where he worked as a boot polisher. He directed popular stars and worked across genres, continuing to act in numerous films while helming projects behind the camera.
Beyond feature films, Kaushik wrote and worked in television and chart shows; he wrote the script for and appeared on the Zee TV music countdown Philips Top 10 in the 1990s.
