Seema Patil was born on 20 April 1980 in Belgaum, Karnataka. Raised in that hometown, she is the daughter of Shivaji Tatoba Patil. Her family includes a brother, Nandkumar Patil, and a sister, Meena Patil. Her father served in the Indian Army before taking voluntary retirement and later ran a grocery shop in Belgaum.
