Shajiaa began her professional life in the newsroom, working at Jang newspaper where she served as a moderator and editor in the editorial section from 2011 to 2015. In January 2015 she moved into television, joining Geo News Urdu as an anchor. There she became widely known as the presenter of the social-political program Meray Mutabiq, which aired on Geo News and the Geo TV network.
In February 2021 Shajiaa took on a new assignment as program host for Harf-e-Akhir on 92 News HD Plus. From 2022 into 2023 she worked as an anchor on PTV News while continuing her association with Meray Mutabiq.
