Early life and background

Shehnaz Kaur Gill was born on 27 January 1993 in Beas, Amritsar, India, and grew up in Chandigarh. She is known by the nickname Sana and has described interests in dancing, singing and creating short video content. She completed a Bachelor of Commerce at Lovely Professional University in Phagwara, Punjab. She follows Sikhism and her family includes her mother Parminder Kaur and a brother, Shehbaz Badesha.

Career

Gill began her professional career in 2015 as a model, first appearing in the music video for the song Shiv Di Kitaab by Gurvinder Brar. Over the next years she featured in numerous Punjabi music videos, including appearances that helped bring her wider attention — notably her role in Majhe Di Jatti in 2016. She has also recorded several Punjabi songs of her own, including Sarpanch and Burberry, combining modelling with a developing singing profile.

Her work expanded into film with her Punjabi cinema debut in 2019, when she appeared in Kala Shah Kala alongside Sargun Mehta, Jordan Sandhu and Binnu Dhillon. That same year she reached a national television audience when she took part in the reality series Bigg Boss 13, which significantly raised her public visibility.

Public profile

Shehnaz is recognised for her fitness commitment and a public affection for cars. Her reported measurements and appearance details have been widely circulated, and media coverage has often focused on her style and on-screen presence in music videos and films.

During and after Bigg Boss 13 she formed a close friendship with fellow contestant Sidharth Shukla; their relationship attracted sustained media attention. In 2021, Shukla died suddenly; coverage described events surrounding his final hours that involved family members and Shehnaz. Media reports that followed also noted plans the pair reportedly had for marriage and for living together, as reported by outlets at the time.

Personal life and public incidents

Shehnaz remains unmarried. Her mother is named Parminder Kaur; her father’s name is not publicly listed in the available profile. She has been linked in media reports to relationships with the late Sidharth Shukla and has been the subject of dating rumours involving others.
