Shivangi Roy was born on 4 October 2000 in Guwahati, Assam. Raised in a Hindu family, she completed her schooling at St. Mary H. S. School in Assam before moving to Mumbai for further studies. In Mumbai she attended B. L. Amlani College and completed a diploma in acting at Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares in Andheri.

Career

Roy started her public career as a model and pageant contestant. She walked the ramp for multiple designers and collected several pageant titles during the late 2010s. In 2017 she won the Teen Miss India Queen of Queens title and represented India at the Teen Queen of the Globe event in Thaba-Bosiu cultural village in Africa. That same year she finished as first runner-up in the Miss Queen of Globe International teen category. In June 2018 she added the National Icon title at the K-Mystery Miss and Mrs India contest in New Delhi.

Her acting career began with television: Roy made her TV debut in 2017 with an appearance in the Colors TV series Gathbandhan. She later moved into digital work, making her OTT debut in 2020 with the fifth season of ALT Balaji’s Gandii Baat, in which she played a character named Jugnu in the fourth episode. In 2023 Roy returned to ALT Balaji for the second season of Paurashpur, portraying Princess Rooplekha, a royal figure trapped by a curse that threatens the kingdom.
