Early life and background

Shreyanka Rajesh Patil was born on 31 July 2002 in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Raised in a family that includes her father, Rajesh Patil, her mother (a homemaker) and two siblings — a brother, Adarsh, and a sister, Bhoomika — she attended Delhi Public School in Bangalore. Her listed height is 1.75 m (5'9") and, according to available information, she has black hair and black eyes.

Career

Patil developed into a specialist bowler who bowls right-arm offbreak and bats right-handed. Her early leadership roles included captaining the Under-16 Karnataka side in various tournaments. She trained at local academies such as NICE Cricket Associations, where coach Arjun Dev worked with her on improving her batting while she continued to hone her bowling skills.

Across state and domestic cricket, Patil has represented Under-16 Karnataka, Under-19 Karnataka and the senior Karnataka team. Her domestic and club affiliations also include stints with Mysuru Warriors, Rajajinagar Cricketers, Falcon Ameya Sports, Cosmic Cricket Academy, Banaswadi Cricket Club and NICE. She has progressed to higher representative levels, having been selected for India A.

Patil has a record of eye-catching performances in corporate and domestic matches. Notable bowling displays cited for her include a 6 for 4 spell for Rajajinagar Cricketers against Swastik Union Cricket Club and a 9 for 24 performance that earned her a Cricheroes spell of the year award in 2022. In the 2022–23 BCCI Senior Women ODI Tournament she finished as the second-highest wicket-taker with 20 wickets.

In the 2023 Women’s Premier League auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore acquired her at her base price of Rs 10 lakhs. She went on to win the Purple Cap in the 2024 WPL season, finishing with 13 wickets. Patil has also been part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore setup in the WPL.

International tournaments and injuries

Patil’s progress into higher-profile tournaments has been accompanied by setbacks from injury. She missed the 2024 T20 World Cup because of a broken finger. During the group stage of the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup she suffered a ligament injury and was replaced in the squad by legspinner Prema Rawat.

Public profile

Patil cites an early inspiration from watching the Indian Premier League in 2013 and has named Virat Kohli as a favourite cricketer. Off the field she enjoys dancing and has a fondness for chocolate fudge. Her first recorded sponsor partnership was with the Fast and Up supplements and vitamins brand.

Latest updates

Recent highlights include her Purple Cap-winning campaign in the 2024 WPL and the injury that ruled her out during the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup group stage. Her domestic form, highlighted by the 20 wickets in the 2022–23 Senior Women ODI Tournament and standout corporate match spells, underpins her reputation as one of the promising emerging bowlers in Indian women’s cricket.
