Shruthy Menon was born on 19 April 1984 in Mumbai, where she was raised and continues to list as her hometown. She completed her schooling through class 12 with a commerce focus. From an early age she has expressed interests beyond acting and modelling; as a child she once aspired to become a pilot. Family life includes her parents, Sreevalsan Unni Menon and Shashi Menon, and a younger sister, Aishwarya Menon, who works as a pilot.

Career

Menon built a multi-faceted career as an actor, model, television presenter and master of ceremonies. Her first credited film role came in the Malayalam feature Sancharram (The Journey) in 2004, in which she played the part of Delilah. Since then she has appeared in a string of Malayalam films including Mulla (2008), Elektra (2010), Up & Down: Mukalil Oralundu (2013), Kismath (2016) and Kumari (2022). Her work also spans other languages: an English-language role came in Lost & Found (2014) as Rachael, and she appeared in a supporting role in the Marathi film Eli Eli Lama Sabachthani (2017).

Her performance in Kismath brought notable critical recognition: in 2016 she won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress for the Malayalam film, and earned a nomination that same year for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress.

Beyond films, Menon has been active in modelling and advertising. She has worked in fashion shows and in print campaigns for brands including Ruby, Lakmé and Sabyasachi, and has appeared in television commercials for Biba, Bajaj Bikes and CaratLane. She has also been featured on magazine covers such as FWD and Manorama Arogyam.

Television and digital work have formed an important part of her portfolio. Menon hosted several Malayalam TV programs, including Amrita Super Star Season 1 (2006), Vodafone Comedy Stars Season 1 (2010), Surya Challenge (2015) and Uggram Ujjwalam Season 3 (2015).
