Early life and background

Shweta Sharda was born on 24 May 2001 in Chandigarh. Raised by her mother, Suhana Dawra, she grew up alongside a brother, Jatin Sharda, who works at Canara Bank in Mumbai. She attended Government Model Senior Secondary School in Chandigarh and later studied at Panjab University. From an early age she showed an interest in performing arts, and by her mid-teens she had decided to pursue dance professionally.

Career

Shweta moved to Mumbai at 16 to focus on a career in dance. She established herself as a dancer and choreographer, creating routines for events and working across stage and screen. Her choreography credits include major events such as Miss India and the Lions Gold Awards in 2019. She has conducted dance workshops around India and uploaded dance content to her self-titled YouTube channel, which she launched on 11 May 2022.

Alongside live events and teaching, Shweta has appeared in multiple music videos. Her on-screen appearances include the Punjabi video "Ranjha Tere Naal" (2021), "Coco" (2022), "Uncha Lamba Kad" (2022), and the Hindi video "Mast Aankhein" (2023). As Miss Diva Universe 2023, Shweta represented India at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant held on 18 November 2023 in San Salvador, El Salvador, where she finished in 20th place. For the international competition she showcased multiple looks: a chic pants-and-tunic outfit by Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna for the preliminary interview; a heavily embroidered national costume featuring peacock embroidery and a lotus-inspired headpiece; a navy-blue cut-out preliminary evening gown with gloves by Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna; and a finale look that included a shimmery tasselled mini dress by Lavanya Coodly paired with silver heels and an electric blue bag.
