Early life and background

Siddharth Dhanda was born on 22 October 1994 in Ludhiana, Punjab, and grew up in the same city. He attended Saraswati Modern School in Ludhiana through the ninth grade and completed his higher secondary education at Bahadur Chand Model Public School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana. From a young age he took part in school plays and cultural activities; at 12 he discovered a comfort for performing while appearing in a school production called Report Card. That early encouragement and later participation in youth festivals in the UAE, where he won acting and dance prizes, helped steer him toward a career in performance.

Career

After finishing school Siddharth moved to Mumbai to pursue acting. He relocated from Punjab in 2010 and secured his first television appearance in the historical serial Chandragupta Maurya on NDTV Imagine in 2011, where he played the young Digvijay. He has said that shooting on that production functioned as an informal training ground, and that he learned the craft on the job rather than through formal acting school.

In 2012 Siddharth appeared in Har Yug Mein Aayega Ek – Arjun on Star Plus and began taking a variety of episodic and serial roles over the next several years. He featured in Savdhaan India (2012), Everest (2014–2015) directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, Love by Chance (2014–2015), and Gumrah End of Innocence (2015–2016). He played Raghav, an IIT aspirant, in the web series Kota Toppers on Disney+ Hotstar (2015–2016) and appeared in multiple episodes of Crime Patrol across 2013–2023 on Sony Entertainment Television. In 2017 he was seen in two episodes of C.I.D. on Sony Entertainment Television.

Siddharth gained wider recognition in 2018 for portraying the antagonist Aahir Rane in the Zee TV serial Tujhse Hai Raabta. That same year his short film I Am Seventeen received a Filmfare nomination.

In 2021 he continued to expand his screen work, appearing in the music video for the Hindi song Suhagan by Prateeksha Srivastava, playing the role of Mitwa in the Zee Ganga serial Mitwa, and featuring in an episode of Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya directed by Hemant N Mishra on Zing. He later appeared in the web series Crimes Aaj Kal on Amazon miniTV in 2023 and in the Colors TV show Mera Balam Thanedaar in 2024.
