Siddharth Shaw Biography

Siddharth Shaw is an Indian actor from New Delhi who began performing as a child, trained in theatre, and has appeared in films, web series, commercials,短s

Early life and background

Siddharth Shaw was born on 12 February and grew up in New Delhi. He developed an enthusiasm for performing very early, reenacting scenes from Bollywood films during his childhood and joining the Delhi theatre scene when he was around five years old. His parents later enrolled him at Mayo College, Ajmer, to provide a more structured environment and to reduce long daily commutes. At Mayo he pursued a broad range of extracurriculars, captaining cultural activities, the golf team and the debate team. He also represented India in a youth golf tournament in South Africa, competed in international debates, played multiple sports, and helped organise TEDxYouth@MayoCollege in 2016.

Shaw went on to study at the University of Delhi and completed a Bachelor of Commerce. His father, Sandip Shaw, works at Capital Tours & Travels and his mother, Ruchi Jaiswal Shaw, is the founder of Ruchi’s Kitchen. He is unmarried.

Career

After college, Shaw continued in theatre, working with groups such as Stage Coach, Julia Gabriel, Asmita Theatre Group and Gurgaon TH. His early on-screen work included a comic video for WTF station (now Alright) in 2018, which preceded a series of advertisements and print campaigns. He has appeared in commercials for brands including Coca‑Cola, BMW, Happydent and Oyo, and in print ads for Kotak Life Insurance, Rapido Bike Taxi and Imagesbazaar.

An audition organised by Mukesh Chhabra Casting Company led to one of his first film roles: he appeared as Rathore in Love Aaj Kal 2 (2020). That year he also featured as a school kid in the Amazon Prime series Paatal Lok. In 2021 he played a B‑grade cinematographer in the short film Peeli Machli (The Yellow Fish) and appeared in two episodes of the YouTube series Not Dating as the character Sameer.

Shaw continued to build his screen credits with appearances in 2022, playing Rahul, a party attendee, across three episodes of Hotstar Specials’ Criminal Justice: Adhura Sach and taking part in the MTV Beats show Dil Beats With Sukriti & Prakriti Season 4. He was also featured in Zaruri Hai (2022), a short film produced to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS that premiered at Alliance française de Delhi.

In 2023 Shaw gained broader recognition for his role in the slice‑of‑life web series Do Gubbare, which streamed on JioCinema. The series centres on Rohit’s move from Indore to Pune and the guidance he receives from a grandfatherly figure named Ajoba; Shaw’s involvement in the show marked a notable step in his on‑screen profile.

Public profile

Shaw is known professionally as an actor and is associated with both film and digital projects.
