Singampuli was born on 6 July 1968 in Periyakulam, Theni. Raised in his hometown, he attended Nadar Saraswati Boys Higher Secondary School in Theni and later completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Bangalore. From a young age he showed a strong interest in films, cultivating his passion by watching a large volume of movies.

Career
After finishing his engineering studies, Singampuli moved to Chennai to pursue work in the film industry. He began his career working behind the camera as an assistant director and later shifted into directing. His directorial credits include the Tamil films Red (2002) and Maayavi (2005), both of which contributed to his recognition in the industry.

Singampuli transitioned to acting and established himself as a reliable character performer, often appearing in supporting and comic roles. He made his acting debut in the film Kuyyan, featured in Naan Kadavul (2009).
