Sitara Ghattamaneni Biography

Sitara Ghattamaneni is an Indian video creator, dancer and young public figure from Hyderabad. Born in July 2012 to actors Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkr

Early life and background

Sitara Ghattamaneni was born on 20 July 2012 in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Raised in a family with long ties to the Telugu film industry, she is the daughter of actor-producer Mahesh Babu and actress-model Namrata Shirodkar. Her paternal grandfather is Krishna, a veteran actor, director and producer; other close relatives include Ramesh Babu and Manjula Swaroop, both active in film production and acting. Sitara’s home city and early schooling are in Hyderabad, where she attended CHIREC International School.

Career

From a young age Sitara has been active in creative pursuits. She trained in dance styles including Kuchipudi and ballet and is also skilled at playing the guitar and painting. Sitara has explored work in entertainment and digital media: in 2019 she was shortlisted to provide the Telugu voice for Baby Elsa in the dubbed version of Frozen 2, and that same year she launched a YouTube channel called Aadya & Sitara with a friend. The channel features games, challenges, DIY projects and painting videos and had grown to hundreds of thousands of subscribers by 2022.

Sitara has appeared on-screen beyond her own channel. In 2022 she featured in the music video for the song Penny from the Telugu film Sarkaru Vaari Paata. She also made a guest appearance on the Telugu dance reality show Dance India Dance alongside her father in 2022. That year she promoted a consumer brand on social media and, at age eleven, appeared in an advertisement for a jewelry brand. Reports state she received a sizeable first fee for that ad and that she donated the amount to charity.

Public profile

Sitara’s public presence combines family connections and her own creative work. She has routinely shared performances and personal interests—dance, painting, reading and swimming—through social platforms and video content. She is known to be fond of animals and is a pet owner. Public appearances have included an outing to Times Square in July 2023 that was highlighted by her father on social media.

Like many young creators, Sitara has also faced challenges related to online visibility; in February 2024 a fake Instagram account was created in her name, an incident reported as cybercrime.

Latest updates

By 2024 Sitara remained active in short-form and digital video content while continuing her dance training and artistic pursuits. Her YouTube channel with Aadya had amassed a substantial audience by 2022, and she continued to take part in select media projects and brand promotions. She maintains interests in music, painting and reading alongside her schooling in Hyderabad.
